The Future of Health in Rushcliffe
The Future of Healthcare in Rushcliffe event took place on 19th June 2025
Over 70 local residents and healthcare staff gathered at East Leake Community Pavilion on 19th June 2025 for this year’s Future of Health event to explore what’s going on with local services and how local people can get involved in co-creating the future of healthcare in Rushcliffe.

Speakers from across the local NHS, community services, Borough Council, key charity partners and digital health shared insights on:
-
Prevention and Self-care
-
The evolving role of local pharmacies and Community based care “beyond the GP” and beyond the NHS
-
Digital advances including getting help to use the NHS App and digital GP appointment systems
Watch these 3 short clips of interviews from 3 of our experts who reflect on what they discussed with residents at the event:
Boosting Prevention - South Notts PBP
Fiona Turner - Rushcliffe Social Prescribing
Digital Skills Support - Rushcliffe PCN
Attendees valued the opportunity to question expert speakers, have in depth discussions on these three themes, and the interactive marketplace of local service providers and charities.

A shared vision for improved communication and collaboration was felt by many to be something to take away. Key themes emerging from the in-depth discussions included:
-
Boosting digital inclusion
-
Community engagement and the role of Patient Participation Groups (PPGs)
Residents’ feedback called for more such events and greater promotion of local community based health services “Beyond the GP” as this is less well known to many.

See www.rushcliffehealth.org for more information on local community based health and care services. In particular, the role of the Social Prescribing team is well worth a look as they put on regular events as well as being a service that takes one to one appointments. This service can look at the wider aspects of your health and wellbeing, and really helps people with stress, loneliness and people who feel out of balance or overwhelmed.
